Well, It FINALLY Happened

That's right, after nearly two years of praying for a loose tooth -- ever since the day her best preschool friend, Maggie, lost her first tooth -- Izzypop is finally preparing for a visit from the tooth fairy tonight.  She is happy as a clam.
It definitely made her day better.  She has been sick all last night and today.  Both Izzypop and Skeeto are sick, so I stayed home from work today to quarantine these two little Petri dishes.  Poppa Bennion was kind enough to come up for an hour or so to allow me to get to the store.  While I was gone, he taught Izzypop the subtle art of loose tooth removal...grab it with a tissue and yank it out!  And this brave little girlie did it!  She wouldn't let Poppa do it, mind you, but she did the dirty work herself.  And "it didn't even hurt!"  Congrats Izzypop on your first missing tooth!

Update:  The Tooth Fairy found her way to Izzypop's pillow and left her a dollar with a note written in fairy dust on it!  She came busting into our room at 3 in the morning to tell us all about it after she had woken up to go to the bathroom. :)

1st Day of 1st Grade

Today was Izzypop's first day of first grade. She was so excited. She picked out her own outfit. She wanted the one that "makes her look like a dork". Not sure what she thinks "dork" means, or why she thinks that outfit makes her look like one. It made me laugh, though.

She was thrilled to be reunited with all her old (and some new) Ensign girlfriends.

Funny face time!

She got to pick out her very own hook, right next to Julia and Mesia

This was her "Okay, Mom.  If I show you my name tag, will you please go away and stop embarrassing me?" look.  That's my girl.  She had a great time on her first day and it is shaping up to be a great school year.

Bear Lake 2012

Today we went to Bear Lake with Grandma Sandi and Poppa Bennion.  Oh my, we had way too much fun.  We headed straight for the water and started checking out rocks.

Is that how you are supposed to stand for pictures, Izzy?..................OK.

Being beach bums with Grandma.
Skeeto has never been much of a water baby, but I forced him to come out with me and before we knew it....

...he was chest deep and loving it.  See that little spot?  That's Skeeto, WAY out there!

Then aunt Karyl let us use her canoe.  The kids were super excited.
Izzypop was a great paddler.
Paddle on, geeves.

It was a gorgeous day.  The kids had a blast on the boat.  We also got to ride on the catamaran, but alas, did not get any pictures.

After so much fun, we were starving!!!  Thanks to everyone for feeding us!  It was a great lunch!

We had so much fun spending the day with those we love.  Thank you so much grandma and grandpa for letting us spend this day with you.  We haven't had that much fun in a long time.  It was just what we needed.  My cheeks still hurt from smiling.  Can't wait until next year!
